Building a harmonica
with stainless steel reeds has always
been regarded as a milestone.
And at last Seydel has done it!
Seydel have produced
the first serial-produced Richter-diatonic
harmonica with stainless steel reeds.
The 1847, which represents the founding
year of the Seydel factory, is an
impressive innovation that has been
described as "a master's instrument
for maximum ambitions".
The harp has a fully sealed, absolutely
soak-free comb (from maple timber)
rounded at the front, to give a
better seal to the lips, plus there
is some additional bevelling on
the inside. Clever use of colouring,
resulting from laser cutting, combined
with a front polishing process,
gives the comb its specific design
and appearance.
Other features include:
- Full, powerful,
rich sound with extremely fast
responsiveness due to stainless
steel reeds
- Stainless
steel reeds and rivets enhances
durability, especially with intense
use
- Less air-loss
due to fine-cut reedplates - optimized
flatness and extremely small tolerances
between reed and reedplate
- Round-edged
coverplates with ergonomic built
hole-openings and rounded dividers
prevent cuts from the mouthpiece
- The rich sound
spread out undampened due to the
covers made of extra strong chrome
plated sheet (0.4mm), opened wide
at the back and crimped and therefore
a good stability and rounded edges
- Moisture-proof,
swelling-free maple-comb, sealed
with multiple layers of food-safe
finish
