GWU Host free music-centered event honoring March on Washington
George Washington University celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington with an evening of cinema, spoken word and music which became the soundtrack of the movement. Julian Bond, a central figure in the Civil Rights Movement, will speak and urban jazz harmonicist Frédéric Yonnet will join Patrick Lundy and The Ministers of Music for moving, contemporary renditions of songs that gave people courage and a sense of unity during the Civil Rights Movement.
